Honorary citizenship of Houston awarded to Jahangir Khan

LAHORE - Pakistan's legendary squash player and President World Squash Federation Jahangir Khan was awarded honorary citizenship of Houston for his meritorious services to the game of squash.
The City of Houston Councilman Peter Brown on behalf of Mayor Bill White handed the keys and proclamation certificate of Houston honorary citizenship to the legendary sportsman who has also won Pride of Performance and Hilal-e-Imtiaz in Pakistan.
The ceremony was held at Houston's Mezban Restaurant in the presence of large numbers of prominent community members, staff members from Consulate of Pakistan.
The function was specially arranged by close friend of Jahangir Khan, Muzaffar Siddiqui who introduced the champion from Pakistan to several guests, including city councilman Peter Brown. Other than the mayoral honorary citizenship of Houston to Jahangir Khan, Brown also gave from his council office special recognition pin and certificate of excellence.
This decree of Houston Honorary Citizenship is given to personalities, who have immensely contributed to the world society in various fields and the City of Houston wants these personalities to become goodwill ambassadors, by informing about the hospitability and uniqueness of this city of diversity.
Jahangir said youth needs to realize that immense hard work and total commitment is needed to get huge success.
