Council Member Peter Brown and the Houston Grand Opera Organize Simulcast of Chorus! To Discovery Green and Houston Schools

Hundreds of Houstonians gathered at Discovery Green and schools around Houston Saturday, February 7th to watch a free performance of Chorus! The show was simulcast from the Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston at 7:15 pm.

ABC13 Eyewitness News team member Laura Whitley hosted the CityCast and took viewers backstage for interviews with members of the cast and production team. KUHF Houston Public Radio 88.7 FM also played the performance.

Over 1,200 watched the CityCast. This and future performances were underwritten by Houston City Council Member Peter Brown and wife Anne S. Brown.

“It is our hope that countless Houstonians will be moved by the magic of these performances, and that a tradition will be set for future such public productions. We are honored to make it possible for everyone to share in the amazing artistry of one of America's premier opera companies," said Council Member Brown.
