Over Eighty Supporters Attend First Peter Brown for Houston Meeting of 2009

Sunday, January 25, 2009

The Peter Brown for Houston campaign opened the doors of its new headquarters to over 80 supporters on Saturday, January 24th. This month’s presentation, “Transportation and Mobility in the City of Houston,” prompted lively debate among the attendees.

The 30-minute question and answer session focused on METRO’s plans to add commuter rail to Houston’s transit system and expand the current light rail lines. Congestion on side streets and in neighborhoods was also discussed. Participants all pointed out the need to coordinate infrastructure and transportation projects through better planning.

The meeting ran from 10:30 am to noon at 805 Rhode Place.
